GREENVILLE, S.C. --- Five was the magic number for California Baptist University, as five players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tires NCCAA DI All-American teams.

Bernadette Witz, Daelyn Paul and Kelly Jenks were named All-American first team. Melissa Laxamana and Kimberly Allard were named All-American second team.

Bernadette Witz was also honored as the PacWest Player of the Year, NCCAA Scholar-Athlete and the NCCAA DI national Player of the Year.

Witz started and appeared in 21 games, scored 14 goals and picked up 3 assists in 2012. Her 14 goals were the third most in the PacWest.

Paul was also named the PacWest Newcomer of the Year and the Most Outstanding player of the NCCAA national tournament. She also appeared in 21 games, and she picked up 20 total points on eight goals and four assists.

Jenks led the Lancers, and the PacWest, with 16 goals. She also had six assists. She was named the offensive MVP of the NCCAA national tournament.

Laxamana appeared in 21 games, starting 19 of them. She was also named a Scholar-Athlete by the NCCAA.

Allard started 19of the 20 games she appeared in. She picked up five goals, including one game winner, and six assists for 16 total points.  

Chantel Cappuccilli was recently honored as the defensive MVP at the NCCAA national tournament, she and Lindsay Vesling, in addition to Jenks and Paul were also named to the All-tournament team.

The Lancers won their second straight NCCAA DI national championship and finished the season with a record of 18-2-1.
