RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- After a successful season in 2012 campaign, California Baptist University's track team is getting prepared for a great 2013 showing with the release of the upcoming season schedule.

The Lancers have 11 events on tap for the 2013 season, closing the year with the PacWest Championships in April. CBU kicks the year off at the Kim Duyst Invitational Sat., March 2.

Last season at the NCCAA National Track Championships, Ashlee Cervantes set the CBU women's 800 meter record with a time of 2:12.25. Cervantes also broke the school record in the 1500 M with a time of 4:40.99.

The NCCAA Championships will be held May 2, in Joliet, Ill. this season.

Naomi Van Setten posted a time of 11:08.99 in the women's 3000m SC last season, which also broke the previous school record.

Chase Williams became the national champion last year in the men's 800 meter run, posting a time of 1:53.01. Williams also won the 800 meter title at the NCCAA Indoor Championships as well last season.

"We're very excited for the upcoming 2013 season", said Head Coach Ben Gall. "Our team is looking forward to competing outside the Southern California area and our competitive schedule gives us a chance to prepare for the first ever PacWest Championships."

Sergio Rodriguez, Mitchell Moore, and Jacquie Lutz also earned All-American honors last season along with Van Setten, Cervantes, and Williams.
