The Lancers had been hoping for the championship's at-large bid after falling in the west regional tournament, but were left out of the field. CBU is the defending NCCAA champs, but will not get a shot at defending their title.
CBU ends its season 19-8.
The Lancers finished third in the increasingly difficult PacWest for the second straight year with a 12-4 conference record. The Lancers finished just behind old GSAC rival Fresno Pacific in the conference standings and just ahead of the region's No. 2-ranked Grand Canyon and other GSAC rival Azusa Pacific. No. 8 BYU-Hawaii won the PacWest and is currently set to host the NCAA Division II West Regional.
The season was also particularly successful on the individual side for senior Ingrid Carmona as she became the program's all-time kill leader, finishing her career with a whopping 1,890.
Carmona and freshman Malika O'Brien were both named to the NCCAA's All-West Region first team, while Faith Steinwedell earned second team honors and Kim McCalmont was an honorable mention.
