CBU defeated the Saints 63-50 in both team's opening game, using a 17-0 run early in the second half to take control of the contest.
"I was very pleased with the way we came out and played in the second half today," said CBU Head Coach Jarrod Olson, who enters his first season with the Lancers. "There were some things we can definitely work on, but overall this is a game we can build on going forward."
The Lancers trailed entering the second half, but just over three minutes in Myriah Hicks hit a three to give the Lancers a 36-35 lead and spark the run.
Six different players scored during the run, with Simone Holmes capping it with a 3-pointer and then a steal and a layup to give CBU a 50-35 advantage.
The Lancers kept the lead in double digits the rest of the way, going up by as much as 17 at one point.
Hicks led all players in the contest with 18 points, hitting 5-of-8 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Jasmine Sauser added 10 points in the game.
"Myriah played really well for us, making some big plays when we needed them," said Olson. "I also thought Brittney Lewis had a great game on the boards. She got some rebounds in crucial moments during the second half."
Lewis and Megan Workman each grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Lancers. The Saints' Ciara Pedroni led all players with 11 boards.
Brooke Paulson scored a game high 13 points for St. Martin's.
The Lancers stay in Oregon for another early season tournament game, facing tournament host Western Oregon tomorrow.
