RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University, the two-time Pacific West Conference champion, has earned the top seed in the 2012 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) West Region Tournament.
The Lancers will receive a first-round bye and host the winner of No. 2-seed Azusa Pacific and No. 3-seed Point Loma Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m.
Azusa Pacific and Point Loma play their semifinal game Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Azusa Pacific.
CBU is the defending NCCAA National Champion and is currently 14-2-1 overall and has won 10 straight games, a streak that dates back to Oct. 2 when the fell to Point Loma, 3-0 in San Diego. Since then, the Lancers have recorded seven shutouts and avenged the Point Loma loss with a 3-2 overtime win over the Sea Lions Oct. 30 in Riverside.
The Lancers also beat Azusa Pacific 1-0 Sept. 20 in Azusa.
