LAIE, Hawaii --- California Baptist University suffered its first loss in over a month Saturday, running into a blistering hot No. 10 BYU Hawaii.

CBU fell 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-14), snapping a 10-match winning streak for the Lancers.

The Seasiders dominated out of the gate, opeing the match to the tune of a 13-3 run.

Things didn't get any better in the second, as a mid-set 7-1 run helped BYUH take a commanding 13-4 lead. A subsequent 6-0 run put the Lancers away.

Through two sets the Seasiders had out-hit the Lancers .471 to -.017, ripping 27 kills to just 13 for the Lancers. Faith Steinwedell was the only Lancer in positive numbers offensively after two games.

CBU went straight to Malika O'Brien out of the gate in the third and finally found a rhythm. O'Brien scored three of the first six points in the game, helping the Lancers play even early.

Three straight Seasider points around a CBU timeout, helped the home team open a 16-12 lead, though. That was all they needed.

Steinwedell led the way with six kills in the match, hitting .200. As a team the Lancers hit .000.

The Seasiders hit a blistering .434 in the contest, committing just five errors.

BYUH's Lauren Hagemeyer led all players with 13 kills.

The loss drops the Lancers to 15-3 overall, 8-1 PacWest, while BYUH moves to 13-2, 8-0.
