Langworthy helped lead the Men's cross country team to a strong finish a couple weeks ago in their first meet, and that's exactly what he did again this past Saturday.
Langworthy finished second overall out of 28 runners at the first ever Lancer Invitational, clocking an 8K time of 25:20.
This is Mallen's second time achieving this honor and she has only ran for the Lancers twice thus far this season. She was first named NCCAA Women's Cross Country National Athlete of the Week two weeks ago following the UC Irvine Invitational.
This past Saturday at the Lancer Invitational, Mallen beat the entire field of 61 runners and ended with a CBU 5K record and course record time of 17:56. Mallen's performance also lifted the women's team to a strong second place finish overall.
Langworthy and Mallen run again on Sept. 29 at the Stanford Invitational.
