Holden edged out Emily Canales of Redlands to move to the semifinals, getting 1,384 votes in the one day poll. Canales got 1,155 votes in a four athlete poll that featured over 2,800 votes.
Holden won last year's Performer of the Year vote with a total of 888 votes in the final poll. Holden's 1,384 votes nearly eclipse her total from last year's entire bracket when she won the honor with a total of 1,454 votes.
Yesterday's poll was a back and forth battle that saw each player go up by as much as 200 votes over the course of the day. A late push with just a couple hours to go by the Lancer fan base, however, helped give Holden the lead for good and a berth in the semifinals.
Semifinal voting will open next week. Check back in with cbulancers.com for more updates and don't forget to vote for the two other Lancer athletes in the poll, Aaron McCalmont (Wednesday) and Mitchell Moore (Friday).
