AZUSA, Calif. --- California Baptist University's distance track competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific Friday afternoon.
"Today we had a lot of good things happen," said Head Coach Ben Gall. "As we continue to progress throughout the season I'm very happy to see everyone improve in their races."
Naomi Van Setten finished fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:29.72. Bethany Bilton finished behind Van Setten at fifth with a time of 11:30.30.
Ashlee Cervantes placed 33rd in the 1500-meter run with a 4:43.47. Cervantes then went on to finish 13th in the 800-meter with a time of 2:15.44. In both her races she was just one second shy of taking the school record in both the 800-meter and 1500-meter.
Meanwhile, on the men's side, Chase Williams placed 10th in the 800-meter with a time of 1:53.10, which is his personal best on the season. Chris Cline ran a 1:54.35 and finished 20th out of the 66 runners that competed. Cline also set a new personal record in the 800-meter.
Mitchell Moore placed 28th in the 1500-meter setting a new personal best with a time of 3:55.53. Sergio Rodriguez ran a 9:26.86 and finished ninth in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
The Lancers will compete next at the UC San Diego Invitational April 27th and 28th.
