RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Eleven days ago, California Baptist University led Notre Dame de Namur by 17 points with a little more than eight minutes left and had to hang on for a two-point win.

Tonight, the Lancers would have none of that.

Luke Evans scored 17 points and had eight rebounds, and the Lancers built another 17-point lead with eight minutes left. Only this time it ballooned up to 24 and CBU went on to thump the Argonauts 76-56 Saturday night in the Van Dyne Gym.

The win pushes the Lancers' winning streak to nine straight as they improve to 11-1 overall, 5-0 PacWest.

The Argonauts fall to 5-8, 1-4.

Evans was one of three Lancers in double figures. Andrew Fisk had 14 points, going 7-for-9 from the floor. Justus Von Wright finished with 13 points.

The Lancers shot 54.4 percent from the floor, shooting 57 percent in the second half. They committed just 11 turnovers after committing 20 in the last meeting.

"We did a much better job of taking care of the ball tonight, especially in the final stretch," said CBU Head Coach Tim Collins. "I also thought we did a better job defensively in the second half. We made an adjustment at halftime and that seemed to help."

The Argonauts shot just 39.1 percent in the second half and finished the game 20-for-50 (40 percent).

NDNU made its first three 3-pointers to take a 9-4 lead early, but Evans broke a 21-21 tie with a three-point play with 7:11 to go in the half. The Lancers never lost the lead.

The Lancers' 40-31 halftime lead was trimmed to 47-42 with 14:04 left when they scored 14 straight points, capped by a dunk by Evans to open a 61-42 lead with 8:39 to play. NDNU never got closer than 16.

The Lancers out-rebounded the Argonauts 36-27 and outscored them 48-24 in the paint.

"We talked about doing the work on the boards, and we did a good job on the glass," said Collins. "We had 11 offensive rebounds and most of them led to tips by Ivan (Patterson) and Andrew."

Patterson finished with nine points off the bench. Josh Deanne grabbed eight rebounds in 13 minutes.
