CEDARVILLE, Ohio--- California Baptist University's men's and women's cross-country teams battled a new environment saturday, competing in the NCCAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships hosted by Cedarville University.

Both the men and women had three runners earn All-American honors and both finished in the Top 3. On the women's side, Ashlee Cervantes, Malaysia Alexander, and Naomi Van Setten got All-American nods and for the men, Mitchell Moore, Sergio Rodriguez, and Chris Cline earned the honor.

"I am very pleased that both teams put themselves in a spot to contend," said Interim Head Coach Sean Henning. "The course was very tough today and we were definitely out of our element. The girls ran what they have been producing all year, and Alexander made a great showing today at the end stretch. For the guys, they have been battling sicknesses and injuries all season and it showed today that some were tired and worn down. All in all this year has been a great one and I am very proud of both teams."

In the men's 8k, CBU put three runners in the top 20. Malone University won the meet with 25 points and Ceddarville came in second with 66 points and a team time of 2:12:02. The Lancers finished third with 82 points and ran a team time 2:12:51

For the fifth race, Moore led the way for the Lancers, running a 26:13 and finishing ninth. Rodriguez finished 14^th and ran a 26:27, and Cline ran a 26:31 and finished 16^th. Victor Delgado finished 21^st running a 26:47 and Mark Langworthy finished 23^rd with a 26:51 to complete the scoring for the Lancers.

Anthony Migiiozzi of Malone University won the meet with a 25:00.

Meanwhile, in the women's 5k race, the Lancers finished second with 75 points and a team time of 1:35:38. Malone University won the meet with 59 points and a team time of 1:34:52. Indiana Wesleyan University placed third with 89 points. CBU put all five runners in the top 25.

For the eighth consecutive race, Cervantes led the way for the Lancers, finishing sixth with an 18:46. Alexander finished 11^th and ran an 18:58, while Van Setten finished 13^th with an 18:59. Lynnea Sjoerdsma ran a 19:13 finishing 20^th and Jacquie Lutz completed the scoring, finishing 25^th with a 19:30.

Hannah Lamos of Ceddarville won the meet with an 18:28.
