RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Fabiola Zanella da Silva scored in the 44th minute, and California Baptist University made it stand in a 1-0 win over Dominican in a Pacific West Conference game Monday afternoon.

It was the second game in three days between CBU and Dominican. The Lancers won, 3-0, Saturday.

The win moves the Lancers' unbeaten streak to seven straight as they improve to 7-1-1 overall, 3-0-1 PacWest. The Penguins fall to 2-5, 0-3.

The Lancers out-shot the Penguins, 25-3, but were only able to find the net once, mainly due to the solid goalkeeping from Dominican keeper Megan Herring. The Lancers have now had at least 20 shots in eight of nine games this year.

da Silva scored her fourth goal of the season when she got in behind the Penguin defense and ran onto a nice, curling ball over the top from Kimberly Allard. da Silva, who took a game-high seven shots, easily beat a helpless Herring to the right post.

Nicoline Jorgensen didn't need to make a save in getting her fourth shutout of the year. It is the Lancers' sixth shutout in nine games.
