Kristen Karanzias
Position: Assistant Coach

Kristen Karanzias enters her third year on the California Baptist University softball coaching staff.

Karanzias serves as the pitching coach along with being the strength and conditioning coordinator. The former Iowa State Cyclone comes to CBU from NCAA Division II Drury (Mo.) where she was on the Panther’s staff as a graduate assistant coach.

A native of Yorba Linda, Calif., Karanzias played in 49 games and started 43 at third base after pitching her first three seasons at Iowa State. She hit .208, had 28 hits and scored 10 runs while driving in 11 RBI's as a senior, when she had six multiple hit and two multi-RBI games. As a pitcher, she made 26 starts for ISU, including a freshman season in which she had a team-leading 3.44 ERA in Big 12 Conference play. This came after a prep career in which she helped El Dorado High of Yorba Linda to a California Interscholastic Federation championship while batting .320 with 16 RBIs and 25 runs scored.

Karanzias, who earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at Drury, also participated for the Greek Olympic Team in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
