Built in 1991 and remodeled and renamed in 2007, the James W. Totman Baseball Stadium seats more than 800 spectators, which includes chair-back seating behind the plate and additional seating along the third base line, next to the visitor's dugout. Both dugouts are brand new and include increased size as well as an Astroturf surface and a phone that connects to the bullpen and press box. The press box is also upgraded and includes state-of-the-art technology, which will allow all home games to be streamed live on the Internet with an audio and video feed.

Additionally, a new covered instructional area has been constructed. The area will house a new batting cage as well as the bullpen pitching mounds. Also, a new 36-foot Daktronics LED scoreboard has been erected in left-center field. Also, as part of the entire remodeling project of the newly-created Lancer Outdoor Athletic Complex (which includes the softball stadium), the surrounding area is nicely landscaped, lighted and paved. Two new main entrances have been constructed, one located by the left field line at the softball field and the other behind home plate at the baseball field. Both entrances include a ticket booth.

In 1997, CBU hosted the NAIA Far West Region Baseball Championship, and the Lancers won the tournament, advancing to the NAIA World Series where they finished fourth. The field also served as the site for the 2006 NAIA Region II Baseball Playoffs and the 2010 and 2011 NAIA National Championship Opening Round Tournaments. The Lancers advanced to the finals both years, winning it in 2010 and advancing to their second World Series ever.
